Healthy Camper Van Tours Wirral
Wirral Community NHS Trust will be helping local people make positive change to their lifestyle by touring the area in their Camper Van.
The camper van is a great opportunity for Wirral residents to improve their health, lifestyle and fitness
Anyone approaching the van saying the phrase ‘I’m ready to make a change’ to one of the staff members will be given a free health check. This includes a blood pressure check, personalised action plan and signposting to community based activities.
Camper van project lead Matthew Shannon said, ‘The camper van is a great opportunity for Wirral residents to improve their health, lifestyle and fitness as well as finding out more about what the Trust can offer them in their efforts to take potentially challenging steps to move forward’.
Health trainers will also support people on a range of lifestyle issues. Help will be available to those wanting to quit smoking, get active, lose weight, eat healthily and look after their mental health better.
People looking to get fitter will be encouraged to attend sessions from the Trust’s Community Programme. They are all free to attend and offer the chance to make new friends, socialise and re-focus on health and fitness.
All who sign up for a health MOT will be entered into a prize draw, with three £100 ASDA vouchers up for grabs. Signed TRFC merchandise and personal training sessions with Trust staff will also be up for grabs.
The campervan will be touring across the Wirral Monday – Saturday 10.00am – 3.00pm. For the full schedule, and to see the Community Programme in full go to www.wirralct.nhs.uk.
