FREE home and health checks

FREE home and health checks offered to Wirral residents as part of partnership project

Residents in Wirral are being offered a free home safety check and health support, as part of a project being offered by Wirral Community NHS Trust.

The project, in partnership with Wirral Council, provides safety checks for people concerned about the condition of their property.

The support includes carbon monoxide detectors, smoke alarms and fire safety checks, child safety measures, home insulation and heating grants, as well as support with jobs and training, and welfare and benefit checks.

As part of the home safety check, the team also offer free, private and confidential health support*, including a mini health MOT measuring height, weight and BMI (body mass index).

Residents can get a blood pressure check, as well as advice on eating healthily, relaxation techniques, getting more active, losing weight and stopping smoking. Information about free local lifestyle activities including Tai Chi, cookery and chair based exercise classes is also provided.
